"I was in Penang about 5 years ago and stayed at the E&O. We came to the mansion for a museum tour and fell in love with it, so I promised myself that if ever I came back, I would stay here. This place is magical. No, you will not find gyms or lifts and you should probably pack lightly as lugging your cases around won’t be easy. However, it is an absolute privilege to be able to stay in one of the 20 rooms. The staff are attentive and the location is brilliant. Walkable to just about everywhere (though super hot). I am just happy that someone had the foresight to restore this place with such thought and love. "

"We have a comfortable stay at this hotel. We had a late check in so at the 1st night we did not notice that the shower head in our room broke. In the next morning, when I checked with the front desk, a staff member named Saran helped us to upgrade a larger room. He did a great help! All the hotel employees were very friendly. There were good breakfast choices and the location of the hotel is quite close to many amenities. We will stay next time. "
