"Due to the festive season, the Spa closed early, which meant when we checked in just before 6pm, we were unable to use the facilities. I advised the staff member that this was a large factor in booking the stay but I was not made aware of the changes in spa closing times. He was brilliant and extended my checkout to 12pm as well as upgrading our room to a Privelidge room. "

"Hotel is stunning and in a beautiful location. Check in queue took around 20 mins to get through but otherwise pleasant. Room was on floor1, room was nice but no fridge as stated ! This needs to be known for those who carry insulin pens and need to store them in the fridge or other medication that requires refrigeration.The bed was big and comfortable. No glasses in the bathroom so nothing to rinse with after brushing. Decor was dated and a lot of cobwebs around the ceiling. Otherwise all clean...

"The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Room was a bit on the cold side better than too warm. Breakfast was okay but I’ve had better. Location is good easy access to town centre if your catching a train you need to allow 30 mins from checking out of the hotel to been on the platform which is a leisurely walk for an able bodied person. It’s a 10 minute walk to local auction. Staff were helpful without been over the top."

"We chose a bad day to go, there was a Christmas fare on in a marquee in the grounds and the place was packed out with every available member of staff busy in the restaurant, so there was no one mannig the reception, so, we did as the notice on the door said and asked a member of staff to check us in, and although she was rushed of her feet she got us checked in along with another couple who had also arrived.
