"Staff were great and attentive, nice little fruit farm close by. But hotel is a bit isolated so need to drive out to go elsewhere. Had a bit of kids toys you can borrow to play both indoor and outdoor that the kids loved!"

"The hotel is a bit far from station if you are travelling with large luggage, but the good news are , arranging taxi to the hotel is pretty easy . Rooms are superb, have chosen a smaller room out of all the room option but it’s still way bigger than the one that I have last time in ito. Staff has get the whole room sprayed , so I am so pleased that the whole room is out of bug!"

"The property is generally clean but just that there's some unsightly brownish areas at the base of the bath tub. Food and service are good. Just a note for people with walking disability - the rooms are located along the slope, hence have to take note of this. "

"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. We used Google maps and got there without difficulty. We were thankful to have a 4WD and snow tires, because there was ice on parts of the road. Highly recommend the place!"

"We are a party that booked 3 rooms at Kai Aso for 2 nights. Whilst the English speaking reception staff were always helpful, unfortunately one room, No 11, was totally inadequate & substandard. Room floor heating was not working both nights. Whilst the room temp showed 30C, it felt like 20 max 23C. It was very cold both nights, outside temp dropped to 0C both nights. "Exceeding expectations. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and requests. The luxury of this place cannot be overstated. Perfectly appointed villa, private en-suite hot springs tub with a view of Yufu mountain and delicious breakfast and dinner spreads served in your villa… not to mention the in villa massages. Totally worth the cost. If you’re planning a trip to Yufuin, this is one of the best places to stay."
