"Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to travel to this special ryokan. Because it is costly, we wanted to get there as close to check in as possible and enjoy all the amenities. The hot springs were absolutely beautiful and lush. The half board experience is not one to miss, and we loved our detached traditional Japanese room. "The hotel had multiple onsen each of different style. Very enjoyable. The view from the room faced forestry, which would be beautiful in autumn when the leaves turned red. The sound on rushing water from the rapids nearby gave a soothing feeling. The service staff coordination was great too, when you arrive or checked out, they will ask for your name or room number, then inform recep or the car assistant to prepare your keys. Things which were not great 1/ food at the buffet was often cold or like warm,other than soup. 2/ would have been nicer if it were kaiseki"

"Excellent service, staff is very knowledgeable for restaurants and things to do nearby. We send email to ask about tea experience and fruit picking experience and they reply with detailed information. Room is spotless and there is self-service laundry and free coffee and a little pantry where you can sort yourself breakfast with the shop next to the hotel where they sell local products every day. Highly recommend!"

Great Experience for a Great Price

"I stayed here for 2 weeks and they were extremely accommodating! The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of options and they have a comfortable onsen that's available for use every morning and night. What's good too is that there's a lock keypad for the women's bath, so we don't have to worry about anyone intruding. The rooms are snug and comfy, but not too compact. Unfortunately there's no refrigerator, so if you're keeping any snacks or food, make sure it's something non-perishable. Overall, the location was convient, wedged in-between two delicious yakiniku places and just a 20 minute walk from the station."

"I love the traditional tatami rooms here. The ‘Bekkan’ is an annex and based in an older building that is charmingly done. It has its own baths, but you have access to the bigger and outdoor baths at the main building a block away. We hadn’t ticked the dinner box when reserving. Dining options in this town may be somewhat limited as most onsen inns serve meals inside. The restaurants fill up. We ordered the dinner when we arrived. It is a bit pricey, but is a all you can eat buffet with Japanese, Chinese and som western options. The drinks are included as well. The rooms were authentic and the baths excellent. This whole town is duper charming and fun to explore. "
