We booked a family room & it seemed a standard room with extra beds in it but still spacious enough for a night. "Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Ate in the bar & enjoyed a nice meal, friendly staff in bar area. It was not warm enough to sit in the garden but in warmer weather there were plenty of tables outside in a nice spacious garden. Hotel is situated away from the centre of whitby but is very handy for the park & ride bus service which works out much cheaper than using the town car parks. "

"Lovely, friendly staff. Took the dog and there was a bowl, blanket and biscuit waiting for her. Pool is to die for - warm and inviting. Dined out so can't comment on the evening meal, but breakfast was tasty. They allowed us to eat in the snug with the dog and even gave her a sausage, which was appreciated. The only negative I can think of, is that the pillows were on the hard side. The room was spacious and clean."

However the first staff member I spoke to on arrival at the Plough to collect the keys was nothing other than miserable!! Granted we did arrive 30 minutes early, but he was so dismissive of us.
