"Stayed here on route from Scotland to London. The hotel is right on the Scotch Corner roundabout, so very convenient for an overnight stop. Very functional hotel that does the job. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant good with nice range of food for dinner and breakfast."

"The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Room was a bit on the cold side better than too warm. Breakfast was okay but I’ve had better. Location is good easy access to town centre if your catching a train you need to allow 30 mins from checking out of the hotel to been on the platform which is a leisurely walk for an able bodied person. It’s a 10 minute walk to local auction. Staff were helpful without been over the top."

"We chose a bad day to go, there was a Christmas fare on in a marquee in the grounds and the place was packed out with every available member of staff busy in the restaurant, so there was no one mannig the reception, so, we did as the notice on the door said and asked a member of staff to check us in, and although she was rushed of her feet she got us checked in along with another couple who had also arrived.
