In terms of the room, whilst it had a view towards the sea, I would have expected a larger room for the price but this is fairly typical of this type of property ie the charm of the place is in the character of the building and grounds....and this place does...

"My stay was great from the moment I got checked in by Persia who was lovely and even offered to see if the kitchen would prepare me something even though they had just closed. After my long journey from London it was a very good welcome. My room had a beautiful window with a view of the Lake and the mountains. The rest of the staff from the bar to the restaurant was really accommodating and kind. It’s within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, cinema and the lake of course. "

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large and spotlessly clean, with an incredibly comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, very good quality food and served in a friendly manner. It was also great to have the guests lounge which we used several times. We were given all the relevant information for check in and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Holly Lodge and would definitely stay again if we are in the area."
