"Colonial style hotel with refreshing swimming pool, outdoor restaurant w good food & buffet breakfast. About a 10 minute walk to night market The staff are accommodating & helpful. The bar is nice and well stocked. The rooms have good water pressure and are clean . Overall a pleasant stay at Villa Malay but our room had limitations for electrical & soundproofing I’m sure not every room is the same as this is a popular hotel . Thank you to the staff for making it a nice stay. "

"They were great with transporting me back and forth a few times to another hotel down the street to be with a wedding party. I really appreciated it and it beat walking in the hot sun. They also have transport into town and have WhatsApp so there's easy communication when you're ready to be picked up. The pool was great. "Palais Juliana is a bit faraway from the city center. More a business than a vacation place. The hotel could use some renovation. Limited dining services. Transfer included from and to the airport is convenient, as well as the possibility of a free shuttle around Luang Prabang. "

"The place is in the middle of nowhere at the end of unpaved road in an extremely bad shape. A bellboy took me to the room without carrying my bag. Based on the hotel description, the room should have a soaking bathtub but mine didn't have it. When I asked the receptionist, the description by hotels.com (now owned by expedia) is wrong. Next day I had to go boat dock about 8 km away and had to pay US$60. Their justification was that unpaved road is in very bad shape."
