"Our stay of 8 nights was amazing. One of the best hotels we have been in South East Asia. The rooms are well furnished and confortable. The staff is kind and pro active. Breakfasts are very good and the restaurant has a superb choice of excellent dishes - congratulations to the French chef Jérémie Muller for his good work. We also enjoyed very much the nice pool and spa. We shall return for sure. "

"The concierge and staff were friendly. They helped us book a taxi service to get to places. We could easily rent bikes to go to the night market or other areas in town. Would recommend this place! Rooms were nice and clean. One issue though, our shower drain took long to drain so there is a tendency to flood. I hope this is only an issue for our room. (A03) Breakfast selection was great too!"

"Colonial style hotel with refreshing swimming pool, outdoor restaurant w good food & buffet breakfast. About a 10 minute walk to night market The staff are accommodating & helpful. The bar is nice and well stocked. The rooms have good water pressure and are clean . Overall a pleasant stay at Villa Malay but our room had limitations for electrical & soundproofing I’m sure not every room is the same as this is a popular hotel . "The place is in the middle of nowhere at the end of unpaved road in an extremely bad shape. A bellboy took me to the room without carrying my bag. Based on the hotel description, the room should have a soaking bathtub but mine didn't have it. When I asked the receptionist, the description by hotels.com (now owned by expedia) is wrong. Next day I had to go boat dock about 8 km away and had to pay US$60. Their justification was that unpaved road is in very bad shape."
