"A beautiful hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in the middle of the historic area of Takayama. It’s walking distance to everything you’d like to see. The hotel is clean, staff were super kind. They have free drinks each evening in the lounge and offer both western or Japanese breakfast for a fee. The hotel isn’t the most sound proof however it’s a quiet area where shops and restaurants close at a reasonable time so we had no trouble sleeping. Our room was very spacious and clean. We found the beds to be comfy. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. "

"Amazing experience, staff was extremely kind and helpful especially with my little to no Japanese. Food service was a rush but arriving minutes, maybe 20-30mins before your time will benefit you. Especially at breakfast, that long line was no joke so be the first one there. Dinner was easy, almost no wait. Onsen was perfect, amenities was full. Ocean Wing was great, classic tatami room, and sleeping to the sound of the ocean was amazing. Beautiful views from the room. Shuttle bus was easy access, across Atami station. The hotel may not be new but no big deal, embrace the Showa era feel. "

"Chisun Grand is just 3 mins’ walk from Takayama station. This is my second time staying at the same exact hotel in Nagoya as I liked it for its location. Hotel room is clean, big by Japanese standards ( I had a twin share). The bath room is also larger than average hotel bath room size. Hotel is near Miyagawa morning market ( 5 mins’ walk) along the river. Enjoy the cool breeze against rushing waters in the river, where you can find carps, fishes, ducks and birds . Along the morning market street, do try the soft and squishy wasabi mochi. Round the corner from the hotel there are lots of restaurants. Worth mentioning is Takumiya which sells beef rice bowl that can be enjoyed 3 ways.Yakiniku is offered at level 2. Takuma is another restaurant that tourists would find interesting. "

"Closed to attractions and station"

"Wonderful stay here! Stayed in August, air conditioning worked perfectly. Easy check in/out. We had luggage delivered to the hotel from Kyoto, easy to pick it up from the front desk. Staff were wonderful. Hotel room felt newly renovated. The kids loved the bunk beds. Adequate facilities to prepare food- the kitchen area is very nice! Bathroom facilities were lovely- my husband loved the shower pressure, the kids loved the deep bath. The area is right next to the train/bus station, but we were not bothered by road noise. The 2nd floor has laundry facilities, I was able to use them twice during my stay. We drove to Takayama, there is a car park across the road, and we were lucky to get a space all times bar one. We parked in the station (on the other side of the tracks)- it's cheap overnight. We then moved the car back to the normal car park in the morning before the price shot up. "
