"This hotel is on the edge of a mini shopping centre but only 15 min easy drive to the city center. It was easy to find, plenty of free parking. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate with all the added extras. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and will probably stay again."

"Two rooms booked and were different ends of hotel - one had sea view- one poor disappointing view. Rooms were good size and clean but very cold as radiators hardly came on. We were on fifth floor and water took a while to come through warm. Queue for reception as only one person on Limited bar choice but a good breakfast and staff were pleasant in all areas"

"Hotel was well decorated in the main areas - looking fairly newly redone. The service was good. The only issue is the quality of the breakfast buffet is terrible - i mean really terrible. We arrived at breakfast around 9.30 - the eggs were like rubber, sausages the cheapest you can buy, bacon like rubber, instant coffee only. The toast was the highlight, which speaks volumes. Otherwise a great stay."

"Absolutely lovely place. Rooms were great.Beautiful surroundings.Only down side was that we arrived at 1pm, check in was 3pm.Had planned to go to The White Hart Inn, for lunch and drinks,only to arrive there and be told, due to winter staffing, they were not opening until 5pm. I suggested that maybe having a sign on the road advertising that they were open from 8am, should be removed/ amended."

"Evening staff member was in my view not very helpful has tv didn’t work and on asking him about it he said check source button and this didn’t work and was gone before I could tell him although did eventually fix it myself hence why i dropped a star but morning crew were so amazing and friendly and can’t fault them at all- breakfast was great - "

"We wanted a nice relaxing and chilled weekend. The hotel, room except for the shower and hairdryer, food and the staff were awesome. However we couldn’t use the pool as it was freezing cold. The pool was one of the reasons we picked this hotel. "

"Fantastic Sunday lunch and overnight stay. Had a late lunch and a very relaxed afternoon looking at the beautiful view before moving to the fireside sofas for an evening of board games, cheese and wine. Fabulous staff, lovely room. Overall a wonderful short break. "

"Excellent value for money for a small but well equipped hotel. Newish owners clearly making some cosmetic improvements. Only constructive feedback would be that it wasn’t always easy to identify who were members of staff and who were guests. Would definitely stay again"

"Lovely quirky old hotel, great staff, clean and well equipped/presented room - only negative was generator/pump starting up about 07:00 each morning."

"Room was small but very tidy, it had everything we needed. Bed wasn’t the comfiest but ok for one night. The view was amazing, high over other houses the countryside stretched for miles. Don’t book if you don’t like heights. Unfortunately there was something making a noise all night (heating, A/C, water) I don’t know what but it sounded like a heart beat all night long and kept me awake. "Lovely relaxing stay in January. Cold outside but warm and cosy inside (insulation needed around the old sash windows in bedroom though against the wind!) Very welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate our wishes. Our room was a good size and comfortable if a little tired looking. The hotel is in a beautiful spot with lots of good walking trails nearby. Would definitely stay here again"

"Great stay, not really too sure why people have left negative feedback for this place ? I can only imagine they have Rolls Royce taste & Skoda budgets as the saying goes ? Im a sales rep so i stay away quite a bit. yes this place isnt the most luxurious - but look at what you pay. It ticked all the boxes for me. & i stay away quite a bit. "The Royal Seven Stars just oozes history and character. It is just delightful and located right in the middle of the glorious town of Totnes. The staff are all warm, friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner with the extra treat of excellent live music. Great atmosphere in the bar, obviously popular with visitors and locals alike. Our room was really comfortable. We had searched for somewhere doggy friendly, but did expect so many facilities in the room just for our little dog. She was really spoilt, thank you."
