"We have just returned from a short break to Madeira and had a lovely stay. John the owner is a lovely gentleman and his son Alberto made us very welcome. The hotel is very central and only a five minute walk to the cable car, buses and restaurants. Although the hotel is dated decor wise it is spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast and the Madeira breakfast rolls are delicious, the breakfast is great value. We will return to this hotel. Thanks John and your family for a lovely trip! "

On a side street so not a lot of traffic noise. Supermarket 3 min walk. Staff so friendly and helpful and serving staff brilliant, quietly super efficient. Room was very good, balcony, great shower.
