"We were attracted to this place because it is so historic, built in 1680. We knew it was a conference center and likely to be less plush than many hotels. The room was tiny and not that easy to reach because I have trouble walking and used a cane. However, we still really enjoyed staying there and felt it was exactly the unique experience we were seeking "

"Has the best quality at a reasonable price, probably due to not having a dining area. Staff are normally on the ball if you're checking in late after a very long journey which works well for us. Conveniently located next to M62. Nag's Head next door which has choice of either bar meal or restaurant and is better quality than your usual pub."

"Staff very good especially the lady in charge at reception. The hotel suited us - all good except limited channels. First night bed was too small so next days we had twin beds and they were very good. It’s a 3 * hotel in my opinion. Breakfast excellent and nice bar. We would have preferred to be close to city centre. Overall happy with our stay and would stay there again. Another advantage was bus stop for airport across the street. It was good value for money. "

"Great stay, rooms very comfortably, clean and quiet, heard no noise from other residents or doors closing. Very eco friendly, nice mugs instead of small cups. Lovely powerful, hot shower and lovely big white fluffy towels. Staff very friendly and efficient and a good breakfast. Provided me with gluten free toast and gluten free sausages were also available on request. "
