I chose a bigger room and it was really nice, especially the bathroom with a tub that has a city view window (very nice at night).The bus stops are also right outside the main entrance and there are many dining options around the area."

"I saw many Japanese business people there, it is walkable to the Takushima Station, by taxi is under 1000 yen. I asked front desk staff about where is the nearest bus stop to get on buses to the Tokushima Station, but both the 2 staff on duty couldn’t give me a clear idea. Later I found out the bus stop is just 200 meters away: walk out from hotel main entrance, turn left walking to the cross road and turn left again. Only 250 yen to the Tokushima Station. "

The Onsen is particularly relaxing - it is well laid out and the outdoor section allows you to leisurely soak while admiring the view. There are some nice places for walks around the property. "This hotel is dated and has definitely seen better days. I had a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke :(. However, it was low cost and everything worked. The guy in reception was welcoming and friendly- made a particular effort to explain things, show me the free drinks in reception and hand me a tourist map. Location is walkable from centre (flat walk), but slightly further than ideal. Many dining options easily reached, but don’t expect much English spoken (have a translation app handy)."

"lovely location. breakfast had a huge variety of choices. one small challenge was information. i asked about boat trips, went to the activity desk, who said they weren't running, who sent me back to the front desk, who gave me a bus timetable. every time I asked a question I was handed more paper. this was after a 15 minute long check in where they explained random hotel details. I then had to go to another desk to make dinner reservations - at the hotel. hoping for a bit more...

Shōsan-ji is a Buddhist temple the 12th Fudasho on the Shikoku Pilgrimage to 88 Holy Sites in Kamiyama, Tokushima, Japan. Must be very climb the narrow mountain road width. Elevation is approximately seems 900 meters. When I arrived, unfortunately light rain was falling. Autumn leaves is very beautiful temple now.
