"Hotel very tired but I had one of the updated rooms which was lovely. Staff helpful and welcoming except at breakfast. The waiter could have showed me where everything was instead of me having to ask (self service buffet) Dinner was tasty and reasonably priced."

"Nice place to stay. Only stayed one night, but was a great spot for the night. Central location and easy parking. The staff are super nice. One thing to note, they only have stairs so if you have loads of luggage of having accessiblity issues, this is something you should note (although im pretty sure thats mentioned on their listing). "The room was tricky to get into due to position of bed, but once in it was comfortable and had everything you need. Housekeeping staff provided with with an iron very promptly and all staff were very nice. Decor is to a nice standard and having a sea view was bliss. Breakfast was rather yummy and very good value for money. Iussed seeing some fruit and it would have been nice to have the coffee in a cafeteria "

"Really enjoyed our stay here. It's right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area, and was the perfect location for us. The rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff is very helpful. They don't do breakfast, but give each guest a little goodie bag each morning. The pub downstairs is lively and fun, but not too loud."

"We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff on Reception were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The twin beds were comfy and the room well supplied with toiletries. Its so nice to be in a hotel where we can adjust the heating too. The room was at the back and nice and quiet and only a short walk into the centre of Oban.The only criticism I had was the shower which was just about warm, despite running the water for 5 minutes."

"My husband and I have been traveling Scotland for our honeymoon. We found this guest house when looking for places to stay on our travels. We absolutely LOVED it. Our host, Caroline was wonderful and welcoming. Could not have asked for a better host. Our room was clean, and spacious. We had some cereal, snacks, milk, and orange juice in our room. "I had two nights at the Great Western. Wonderful views of the surrounding Harbourside. I could see various boats coming and going. Quite scenic. The bar also has a great view of the water. It’s a 2 min walk to the centre of Oban. Nice pubs, shops and cafes in town too. My room was comfortable, good hot water pressure and it was quiet at night. 👍"

Enjoyable enough stay.

"Comfortable enough hotel, older building so a bit creaky and thin walls (could clearly hear people in adjacent room). Nice bar, breakfast good with nice view of the Loch. friendly staff. Check-in at 4pm is too late, needs to be a hour earlier like most other hotels. "

"Superb hotel with great front of house staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern. Meal choices and food quality was fantastic; Andy and Precious were brilliant and very friendly staff members. I would definitely stay here again."
