"Stayed in the family room which was great, spacious, more than just one big room and with a huge bathroom ( photos attached ). Nice little touches in the room such as bottled water, biscuits, etc. A bonus that we were able to take our dog. Everything in the hotel was well thought out. Breakfast was good included bacon & sausage sandwiches. We ate in the restaurant that night, all our meals were of a very high standard especially the steak one. "Perfect location and we loved the spacious rooms around the restaurant and bar as we had our dog with us. The staff in the evening were amazing when we were having ‘one last drink’ in the lounge. They helped others with eating places still open and even rang them to expect orders. Breakfast is top quality and very well cooked. This stay, our room needed some TLC. The radiator has seen better days, as has the carpet and the bath/shower combo only suits the super flexible due to the very high step...

"A fabulous place to stay. Lovely sitting room never saw anyone use it would be much better utilised as a laundry ! We have been traveling for a week and would have been great to be able to get some clothes washed . Also heating was a bit of an issue no heaters on this morning and it was 1 degree !! There is a fan heater supplied and a blanket but the room then becomes stuffy . Great location and very clean but pack a hot water bottle 😊"

"I received a really warm welcome. The hotel even changed my room so I could have a bath. The pub downstairs has a nice atmosphere. As you have to expect from an old building above a pub, you do get a little noise from the other rooms. Overall, excellent value for money and would stay again. "

"A very welcome overnight stop on our way to the Lake District - not too far from the M6 but in a beautiful part of the country. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was charming - a peaceful village location with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We enjoyed a great evening meal and the breakfast was very good. Definitely would return if heading to that area again."

"Absolutely beautiful little rooms in a very sweet village. Perfect location for local weddings. Only Minor thing - some instructions on how to control the heating/aircon would be very helpful- we struggled to get the room to the right temperature!"
