Check is is self service key in a key lock which was fine. Lodge had broken/boarded up windows in corridor which wasn’t very welcoming. Room was clean but
Curtain hanging off
Tie backs for curtains gone showing paint and screw holes so not finished decor
Aerial on TV didn’t work. And very noisy early in the morning.
Pub itself we never saw it open ( I know it doesn’t say it’s a pub but that’s not clear from some of the pictures shown on site).

Liked: Staff & service
Very good sized room - but definitely the building and surrounding area were very 'tired' looking.
When we arrived to be absolutely honest we didn't think it was open.
That all said, the location was excellent (we used it as a stop-over travelling down from Scotland to The Midlands) and the staff we spoke to remotely were very friendly and helpful.
Although The County Lodge Brasserie wasn't open when we stayed, the Station Hotel (few minutes walk away) was a decent place to eat.
Overall, the location was decent value for money (but would be good to see weeds from guttering removed and broken windows repaired, then I think overall it would look far more appealing)
“Run down” would be a generous description. “In need of renovation” would also not suffice.
Rooms are in the annex a short walk across the car park. Toilet would not flush properly but they had kindly provided a bucket to fill from the shower!
Went to check out at 8:30 and found the building locked and abandoned with a key safe hanging on the door handle, presumably to drop off the key.
It wasn’t even very cheap; wouldn’t go back if you paid me.
The lodge bar and restaurant was closed during my stay and I collected my room key by calling a number then opening a lock box. This was fine and no trouble.
The room was basic but clean and tidy with everything I needed, tea, coffee, kettle, milk, soap etc.
I was on my own for a one night stay and the location was great with plenty of parking. I travelled by motorcycle so it was to find plenty of things to chain it to.
Even with the bar closed there were plenty of places to eat and drink within a short walk and I found some cracking real ale and craft ale pubs with friendly locals.
we checked into county by lovely young lady, but when we got to room 11 carpet was very stained and because we were only there one night but we though we would put up with it.we went down to dine at 7-45pm and young lady was on her own taking orders and waiting on tables food was ok and we ate most of it because we were hungry.when we went back to room i noticed 2 black bugs on bed and when we looked closer they looked like dog fleas so we decided to go home as could not have slept comfortably there,
The room itself was clean and large. However the outside appearance of the hotel needed attention although there was adequate car parking.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The room was fine. There was a coffee shop and a restaurant. Neither of these was open at any time during our stay. There was only ever one member of staff on the premises. She was reluctant to be of any help at all. She made a point of telling us to go and eat/drink somewhere else. Won't be staying there again.
As i was on foot ( by Train ) i wanted some where near the Station to commute between Carnforth and Silverdale to access the RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss and this Hotel fit the bill, very good value for money too for 3 nights. A decent sized room ( Double ) ,there is plenty of Car parking spaces also if needed,i didnt try their Breakfasts, as i needed to be out early morning.
In the end we did not stay. The boiler had broken so the room was freezing cold, and there was signs of mould on the walls. Our 8 year old son is asthmatic so we could not stay.
