"The hotel was in an excellent location. Bar service and breakfast both good. Hotel car parking is expensive £12 per night. If you happen to have a blue badge then there is free parking right across from main entrance. Only negative have never been in such a small bathroom. Literally hit of wall when trying to turn round. "

"Room was hot, bathroom odd (shower opened onto bedroom! Sink in bedroom) But was cheap and not terrible. Had to hike five minutes to a mediocre pub to get a meal. Closer restaurants were all fast fude (Mickey D’s, Subway, the Colonel). Parking was across a busy street in a shopping center parking lot. "

"Very close to station, buses and Isle of Wight link. Many pubs and restaurants. Room and bed were good. Shower. super. Atmosphere is unique. It reminded me of a hall of residence and retired sailors home. Staff really helpful and kind. It is a charity and therefore feels bigger"hearted than the big hotel chains. Restaurant fine but wine could be better! The VERY BEST UNI QUE feature of this quaint club-hotel is the guest launderette in the basement if u are coming off a ship or traveling around...

"Perfect location for visiting Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard, walk out of the train station and the hotel is just across the street. Ideal for a quick sighting trip to the okd town and the docks. Rooms were simple and clean."

"We didn't like our 1st room,we had as it was very small and not what we expected. Reception was very kind allowed us to chose another room; which we did and it was much better. it was one we had chosen, we were only changed as it was thought we couldn't manage the stairs or the shower in the bath. everyone helped us change rooms and carried our luggage downstairs when we left."

"I thought that the property was economical for what little amount of time I was spending there. Even though the room was clean, the shower curtain had a lot of mold on it and needed to be replaced. The bathroom really needed an update/renovation. An elevator/lift is needed at this location. "

The breakfast had a nice selection and was tasty. The staff was really nice even gaving me a converter and kindly said I could keep it. Would definitely come back "
