"Beds were comfortable and the ocean view was lovely. The pool, hammocks and cafe/restaurant area was great. The shared facilities (particularly showers) were in a different part of the building and not so nice. The beach was not good for swimming but great for SUP."

"I stayed for three nights. The hotel is clean and well ventilated. I was lucky enough to have a large and quiet room. The owner is very friendly and doesn't bother guests. But the only regret is that the floor noise is loud. It will be noisy if you live next to the stairs. I would come again if given the chance."

"Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history. The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay. The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old. "I loved the hot springs, was said it was one of the oldest in Shirahama. Boss lady was a great person, and she served with her heart to make sure everything was fine. Food was absolutely delicious! The fishes were all fresh caught by boss lady’s husband every day. All their vegetables were from their organic farm. The view from Boukai was amazing, very close to Beach. I highly recommend this guest house, made me feel like home vacation."

"We thought the staff were so accommodating. Nothing was a problem. We asked to cancel our Japanese breakfast and they applied the cost as a credit toward our dinner meal, which was excellent. Provided an extra pillow and always had fresh towels for the onsen. They also helped with directions to various places we visited. Beautiful view of the river from where you sit in the onsen. Arigatogozaimasu!"
