"The hotel is in a great location on top of the cliffs with easy access to a beautiful beach 2 mins walk away. The whole hotel is lovely, rooms, pools etc. we did notice one of the restaurants in the hotel was shut but there were restaurants within walking distance if you didn’t mind a 29 min walk otherwise it would be very limited dining. The old town is a free bus ride away but it’s a 25 min walk as it only runs 3 times a day. Here you will find the ‘party’ if you wanted it, it’s lovely in day...

"The staff was wonderful, as was the restaurant food and the facilities. Of all the locations at which my wife and I stayed during three weeks in Europe, the Dom Jose was the cleanest and most comfortable. Rui, who worked the front desk, was great, as were all of the staff. The only complaint was that there was no on-site parking, which meant paid parking near the beach or parking a distance from the hotel. Otherwise, we'd visit again."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The property is old and could use some updating, but it was clean and well cared for. The staff was accommodating - they even brought us complimentary champagne after noticing during check in that it was my husbands birthday. The onsite parking is free and convenient if you have a car. The surrounding area is quiet, and only a short walk to downtown Albufeira. The extra money for the beach front room was well worth it. "It was an amazing hotel. We stayed in a suite - which had some dilapidated furniture - peeling chairs, sideboards need some care, silicone in shower tray. Air condition vents need a dust. Cleaning staff for room did a minimum. Reception staff not always helpful. These areas need improvement. However, the bar staff, pool area, food, view from room and location was amazing. The room had great sound proofing from outside events. It is this reason why we have given a four star. "
