"Hosts are gracious and kind. We were picked up at the train station and taken to the monkey park right away. Driver met us to return us to the inn and took us to train station the next day. Inn is very old and needs some maintenance but it is clean and historically beautiful. Very reasonably priced and conveniently located for a walk to dinner. We stayed in July and we had A/C in the room but the open air was nice in the morning and evening. "

"Had a terrific relaxing couple nights. The best beds we've yet had to sleep on. Bedding was super comfortable as well. The included breakfast was great. Western style. Lake around the property is nice to walk, has several good food options. The 7-11 is an easy 10 min walk to get drinks and snacks. And the fellow at the resort gave us a quick lift to the train station for the next leg of our journey. Really enjoyed our stay. "

"Minshuku Miyama is a wonderfully cozy place! The tatami rooms were bigger than most hotel rooms we stayed in and the futons were very comfortable. The open air bath was lovely and spacious and the hint of sulfur smells ensured that the water is straight from the ground babyyy!! The best parts of Miyama were the owners Eiko and Shigemi - they were welcoming from the start and prepared an amazing dinner of multiple Japanese dishes as well as a big delicious breakfast. "The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. It was so comfortable for our family of 5 - very homey and welcoming. The tea and treat upon check-in was a nice surprise and delicious. The onsen was a relaxing bonus!
