"Hostel Fernando was a great place to stay in the Gothic Quarter. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is amazing. The rooms are cleaned each day with fresh towel. "Great location, within walking distance to everything. It is near University: lots of nightlife. The hostal is very basic, do not expect anything fancy. Tiny elevator and narrow stairs. It is clean and the front desk is friendly and helpful. They do have front desk 24/7. "

Smash Hiro (burgers), Raval pizza, fried chicken, hot dog, tex-mex, 365 (pastries and sandwiches), kebbabs, and shwarma. Between 2 Aldi supermarkets. Lots of small fruit shops. Can get loud at night (ask front desk for ear plugs) and lots of graffiti but completely safe. First impression of street might not be good but it grows on you and has lots of character. We spent our days as tourists and came back to the room briefly before heading out again in the evening. The location is very convenient for shopping, restaurants, and the flamenco show which we saw at the City Hall. We were able to travel easily using public transit. The bed was firm but comfortable. The room had very good lighting options, and sufficient electric plugs for charging our devices....
