"Its Okay"

"Booked the property then saw the reviews so was abit nervous to go here with them all being bad but I can not fault our stay at all! Upon arrival the music was loud in the pub, we checked in and the manager took us out the back. We were in one of the self contained lodges in the courtyard and it was of a very high clean standard, as we arrived the heating was on. It was newly refurbished and it was done to a high standard. Only one fault, the is a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor...

"Nov 2024 - This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. As it's old it's also very creaky, so expect to here residents walking to and from the bathroom / toilets. The rooms are what you'd expect in keeping with an old building and a little cold in winter. "Good value for money "

"Having read some of the reviews, I approached my visit - particularly the guest who said that he would have rather slept in his car- but it was ok. It wasn't perfectly clean and the shower was a bit hit and miss (my son said the shower in hid room was great), but it was ok. Petfectly average, but not good value - my room was £125. The biggest issue was one of the windows in my room would've close so not ideal in November. Would I stay there again? No. It was over priced and too nany niggly...

"Fabulous staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable bed. Shower head had a leak but was replaced very promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only slight criticism would be that it was a bit messy near the bedrooms. "

"The hotel was in the perfect location for the rail station, which was the reason for booking. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. "

"Hotels.com failed to relay that I had booked 2 rooms. Only 1 room was reserved. Hotels.com did not let me know, luckily Holloway hotel noted the mistake and contacted me. They endeavoured to get me a room elsewhere and were very helpful."
