"We were running late to check in. The website says they close at 9 pm. We arrived right at 9. No one was there. The next day, the front desk person said they close at 8, then retracted and said he waited until 9 pm. That was not the case. February 2019. Heavy mist in the morning at Santa Elena. Made for an enchanting walk through the 4.8km trail. No sight of wildlife apart from birds, but may have had better luck with a guide.
