"THIS IS MY FIRST TIME AT A HOSTEL. I had a lovely 10 nights. The room is decent and for the price you can’t beat it. Make sure to ask in advance for a room with a balcony, they are for the most part first come first serve. Thank you to the host for letting me relax in the lobby area while I waited for my room. "My room in Hotel Mayerling was very basic and in need of a coat of paint. That said it was clean, warm and reasonably comfortable, if not overly large. It was cold and wet in Madrid during my stay, so it was good that the room wasn’t cold or draughty. The reception staff are very pleasant and check in was straightforward.
