"Staff is very responsive and attentive. Having an in room onsen is great so that we can take a dip in it any time we like. Although the property is a little out of the way, they can always take you to near by bus or train station upon request. Dinner and breakfast are served inside the room. You sit on the floor and the table is about 12-14" high. Sitting cross leg may be uncomfortable to those who are not used to it. Getting up from that sitting position may be difficult for some."

Our room had a balcony with a private onsen, which was absolutely worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfy the futons were when we slept. The location was convenient to the bus lines but still so peaceful and quiet. 10/10 stars, without hesitation. I would love to come back!"

But the thing with the public baths is that you’re with other people who don’t know the bath etiquette— meaning there’s going to be lots of long hair floating in the women’s bath and people who don’t scrub down before getting in. "A great location right on the lake in Hakone. Although it looked to be fully booked we did not see other guests and it was lovely and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and were fortunate to see Mt Fuji for two days of our stay. The onsen in the room was amazing, we used it twice a day or more, so relaxing.
