"Our room was really nice, clean and comfortable. The food was nice. We came with our dog but even though the hotel states that it is dog friendly, it is really we let you bring your dog. There was an area to eat when you have a dog (which was fully booked on the Friday) so we sat in the bar area which had a good atmosphere. We asked to be sat there on the second night as the dog friendly area was out of the way and there was no atmosphere. It is important to us when we come away with our dog...

The person did not want to know about the mould & wanted me to cancel staying on a bank holiday weekend. With health issues I would have preferred to not to stay at all. "At first entry the property absolutely reaked of stale spices, I assumed somebody had just cooked but the smell remained until I left. My room at the front of the house was fine. A little bit dirty in places. The real nightmare was the bathroom. After walking through the kitchen which was dirty, full of dirty dishes, unswept/mopped for weeks and lacking supplies, I found 2 full binbags inside by the back door and then went to the bathroom. "We had a long weekend stay in Thorpe view cottage. The cottage is well furnished, clean and cosy. The garden is well maintained with exceptional views. The pool is a great feature, was used every day. Ray and Julie are warm and welcoming hosts. Good location, ideal for walker's and cyclists. We had a hearty meal on two occasions at the Old dog pub, served by friendly landlord and staff.All in all we had agreat stay,will certainly return."
