"This motel is on the main road (US-60 or Ash Street) but was quiet during the holiday period. It is ideally situated near Hill Street, which goes into the historic district less than a mile away. Fast food is nearby, as is hiking at Round Mountain Park. El Rey is a self-described "vintage motor court" so looks the part outside. But the interior room was large enough, the bed mostly comfortable, the spacious shower always had hot water, and the wall heater worked well, with the usual humming....

"The inside was very clean, all the amenities you would need. Fresh towels, soap, shampoo, etc. We walked into town multiple times, easy distance to grocery shopping, restuarants, coffee shop!Communication with host was spot on....quick & responsive.*Parking on hill, fyi.downward, so be aware. "

"This was my first time in AZ and I couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. With only being an hour away from Tucson its surprising but the night sky was breathtaking, the community was friendly and walking up the street to the little neighborhood park for a morning walk gave to some amazing sunrise views. The home itself was an amazing comfortable and clean spot to cook and relax in. The owner is extremely kind and generous, very communicative, and you can really tell she puts a lot of time and...

"The only down side was we couldn't get the tv to work. But beyond that everything was great. Bed was comfy, good kitchen, outdoor area was cool. Good price."
