"This is an old hotel from the 1920s, but it is maintained well. VERY convenient in Midtown Manhattan for all tourist and shopping. Safe 8th Avenue location. Great bedding, nice towels, good water pressure. Our room had two double bed and TWO full bathrooms !!! Would definitely recommend this hotel if you want one that is relatively inexpensive, great location, and safe."

"What an unusually perfect hotel for Manhattan. It's clean, classy, calm, family friendly, and next to all the stuff you love about New York, from Italian joints on 9th Ave to Broadway theaters around the corner. I've stayed there multiple times now and it's better each time. "

One last thing, if this is your first time in NY be ready for the loudness of the streets. You'll be hearing sirens nonstop until 12am. Recommend bringing or purchasing ear plugs. Otherwise, definitely recommend the Empire Hotel and would gladly stay again."
