I was apprehensive after reading other reviews, rental car company messed up and gave me a little carolla instead of an SUV. "We had a great time the house is a short walk to Heceta beach and it was wonderful. The house is very clean and had everything ww needed except food. We went to the old town city hall parking lot and watched the beautiful fireworks display they put on for the 4th of July. The house is a little old and has some creaky stairs but that was all part of our vibe. Our family is old and a few of us have some creaking going on so we fit like a glove. Thanks for letting us make some great memories."

"We stayed 4 nights at Whales Watch. We found the property clean, and VERY well equiped to cook or bake. We felt like we were in our own house. The location, just steps from Haceta Beach can't be beat, we could take a walk on the beach several times a day and totally exhaust our dogs. It is also located an easy drive a many coastal hikes and tourist sites to help fill the days when you want to be more active than beach combing. BUT the best is just relaxing at the property enjoying ocean...

"I had picked this place when I found it so close to beach and would accept my two English Bulldogs. From the photos the beach looks far away but surprised to find it only a very short hike away from the cabin. Well established trail down to beach....the cabin was spotless , very clean and plenty of beds and additional blankets and sheets to use.. there is a washer and dryer also. The cabin layout was perfect for comfort and privacy. I could not have asked for a better place to stay for time...

"So much thought and effort has gone into making this a comfortable stay for 3 generations and pet. Old game stations and hand shuffle board had kids and oldsters playing together. Blankets made TV watching comfortable. Fenced yard was good for pet. Kitchen was well appointed and beds were comfortable. Big Foot design is fun too. We drove to Bastendorf Beach, North Bend, for dog run."

"Great stay after a rouge river trip We floated the rouge river 4 days prior to our stay at the fortress. The lovely and dog friendly home and yard had everything we needed. Most important was a secure place to drop our boat and trailer. Plenty of secure and safe space for 2 trucks and 2 trailers. Walking distance to beach was epic. Quick drive to old town and all major restaurants. Fred myers close and convienient. Touring sea lion caves, beaching it at haceta and visiting old town florence was...
