"This is a very old property but very quaint. We arrived in a very very hot spell and air conditioners were running everywhere but we were cool. The outside was very beautiful right on the lake. They do lots of things on the weekend it seems. Sorry we were there midweek. The owners were great and so helpful. They love the place and it shows. Will really try to get back there for more than one night to really enjoy the place"

"While our host provided fabulous breakfasts, the listing for the room was misleading. It says two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In reality there are three bedrooms and one bathroom. Our room was very, very small. There was no room for our suitcases and two people could hardly move around. The lighting in the room was not adequate."

"We checked in on our own for just 10 minutes and left this place. Nobody present to welcome us. No wifi and or internet, all fridges were unplugged. Web everywhere. Trees overgrown on hot tub and pool and many more! "

"We came in for the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend (about 40min away) and stayed at this B&B. The owners are incredibly hospitable, breakfast is great, and the historic home setting is good as well. The drive to Cooperstown is through some gorgeous and serene countryside settings."

"Having been born and raised in this area, I wasn't familiar with this location when trying to find a place close to family when coming back to visit. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. "Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The pillows did not have liners in the pillow cases and were stained so we did not use them. The sheets had other people's hair on them, so we didn't use the cover sheets or blankets.
