"I like the design of the place, the rooms are spacious, and well positioned. The staff are fantastic and friendly. Unfortunately, the property is showing signs of age. Peeling paint in the bathroom and carpets that have sections that are rust stained or tattered. The heated pool is always a drawcard for us and the layout is great with the courtyard aspect. "We stayed at Lake Taupo Motor inn for 2 nights as a family of 4. We got lucky with the end room which had big windows and a nice view. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms nice and dark with curtains drawn. It was a nice quiet location although still super close and handy to shops, cafes and restaurants. The pool was too cold for my 4 year old however there was also a spa to warm up in. Great stay"

"We absolutely loved our stay here. We got the 1 bedroom with the hot tub on the balcony and it was awesome. Yes, you have to fill the tub but then it functions just like a normal hot tub. We really appreciated the washer and dryer as we were coming off an 8 day camper van trip. We also loved the french cafe next door so much we ate there three times! Highly recommend!"
