A non smoking hotel that hands out matches in every room, what do you think it’s going to happen? If you’re a smoker it’s for you. For me it was always an exercise in opening the windows to get the smell out of the room and close them quickly when the suicidal monkey next door smoked in their balcony"

The radiator was on the highest setting when I arrived, I turned it off, but the room was still like a sauna for the rest of the night, and this was on quite a cold day in March! Very poor sustainability wise to be using so much heating unnecessarily. "

Overall, the neighborhood is very safe but unattractive: EPFL is not a campus notable for its grade, and the hotel has some sort of muddy field behind it (but with a path you can follow to walk on the side of the lake, which I recommend).
