"Nice rooms, good dinner, good breakfast, hit and miss service experience, but all okay in the grand scheme of things. Full marks for the check in experience, 80% for dinner service and 50% for breakfast experience...the lady and the gentlemen looked upset or perhaps very business like! "

"A lot bigger than i realised. It was a great suprise. Good size room, big shower room. Where the hotel shines is by doing all the simple thing right. - high pressure shower - 2 chairs in room - bowl of sweets - comfy king size bed - good quality pillows - good soundproofing - comfortable temp. - friendly, helpful staff - good quality, fresh breakfast I thoroughly enjoyed staying. "Clean warm friendly. Restaurant and pub downstairs didnt notice it being any noisy upstairs in the room. Bed was comfortable four poster. Room spacious and tall with large window viewing street below and losehill opposite worth a walk along with mam tor at the other end. Free car park opposite the hotel."

"We had a perfectly good stay at the Dog and Partridge, but the accommodation didn’t transpire to be what we expect. We were anticipating a cozy room, in a country pub setting but, in reality, the D&P offers good value, chalet-style family rooms, each with it’s own car port, in a large area behind the pub itself. The pub itself has a nice enough bar, and offers fair evening meals, with a home-cooked feel, and a very good continental breakfast selection, or cooked options for just £6 extra. This...

"The one night stay was perfect, no complaints at all, bed is a super king bed, very comfortable, bathroom is really nice as well. Overall worth a stay here even just for one night or however long you wish to. The staff were friendly at all times and made us feel welcome. Will come back again"

"We stayed during a major snowstorm that shut down the roads and left the Inn under-staffed: but the food was still excellent, the service was wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, The chef is brilliant and the owners are both very friendly and very helpful. An excellent experience despite the adverse weather conditions."

"Lovely stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Vicky was always on hand when needed and communication was great - super quick! Loved coming outside to the chickens and seeing the horses when we arrived. We had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend/return!"

Peaceful Place for Recharge

"I loved every moment of my stay. I needed a relaxing break and this gem was perfect. I loved the decor in the hotel and had a lovely room. A well equipped gym and clean pool. Breakfast was included which was a bargain. Will defo come back to visit ☺️"

"We really enjoyed our stay, lovely room, comfy bed, great shower and luxury coffee machine. The pub is very nice with fantastic breakfast. Great location. The only thing was the room was too hot, no way to turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom, to be fair we should have just asked. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back."

"The venue is in a beautiful historic building. The facilities are great including a pool with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The rooms had massive comfy beds and were cleaned daily with plenty of towels and extra tea, coffee and biscuits. My only quibble is that the rooms didn’t have internet tvs. "

Great hotel

"Great hotel, clean and tidy, lots of parking. Bed comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Only complaint was not having coffee granules available (had Taylors coffee bags which are horrible). Breakfast was adequate - hot food wasn't very hot even when just put out. Would stay there again"

"Although a 3* Hotel, the service we received was more in keeping with a 5*. Our room was clean, free of dust and mould, loved the decor. The swimming pool was a huge attraction for my grandchildren and we were able to continue using the facilities after we had officially checked out. Food was well presented and good sized portion. "

Grand traditional comfortable hotel

"Georgian grand hotel. Hotel has done well to preserve the grand features. This is one for those who like character to a building. Staff were excellent. Service was fast and efficient. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit in with loads of old style leather oxblood sofas and chairs throughout- so comfortable after dinner drinking. Food was lovely. Only requests would be for fresh juices at breakfast rather than concentrate/ squash and a scrambled egg option. Very nice stay - will return. "
