"The hotel is simple but decent, located pretty close to waterfront and most places of interest are in walkable range from here. You can find bars, restaurants (the is a good breakfast restaurant right behind and the famous Ceylonese Restaurant next to it), 7-eleven. The was a slight funky smell in the shower and this could be improved. They also let us check in early which was nice bonus for us. "

"This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. Rooms do need a fridge though to keep the water cold. Only real negative is the noise from within the hotel. Could hear chairs being moved and people talking.
