"Positives 1.Extremely comfortable beds, we slept so well. 2.The water pressure in the shower was super strong. Wonderful shower. 3. Location is perfect. 4. Lovely patio area overlooking the library. 5. Wonderful service from reception. Negatives- breakfast I was so surprised how poor the breakfast was and this is something that could be remedied easily. The coffee was too weak (almost transparent). First morning i ordered the eggs and almost cried when i saw the quantity of food on the plate....

A new manager has just arrived who we believe will look to address these issues. Took feedback on board and keen to remedy. In a good location though. "This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. Staff are very helpful and the concierge was able to find tours for a solo traveller without having to pay for 2 people. You can find bars, restaurants (the is a good breakfast restaurant right behind and the famous Ceylonese Restaurant next to it), 7-eleven. The was a slight funky smell in the shower and this could be improved. They also let us check in early which was nice bonus for us. "
