"Overall we had a great time staying at Mango Y Mono in Playa Portrero. The service from the hosts was excellent. They were very helpful and responsive when we needed something. They arranged all of our transportation for us as well as any excursions we wanted to try. The layout of Mango Y Mono is great as well for a big group. "We loved this place, it was an easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants in town but just far enough away that it felt like a mini magical eco resort with a great pool and amazing on-site café, bar and restaurant (with some of the most delicious & healthy food we have had in a while). The host is just lovely - highly recommend it! "

"The road up the hill is absolutely horrible even by Costa Rica standards. But the house is better than the photos. The only knock I can give it is one of the bedrooms is downstairs and you have to go up the outside stairs to reach the rest of the house and it doesn’t have hot water in the bathroom. The view is breathtaking and Silvia is an absolute sweetheart and does a great job. All in all I highly recommend it. "

"The house is all it’s cracked up to be. Great location! Lis is spectacular!!! Bad weather week before we arrived caused airport closure. Dave worked with us to extend days to accommodate late arrival (thankfully not booked week after ours). Seriously over the top kindness. Do go horseback riding with Brandy. She uses funds to rescue horses. And do take sunset cruise. We loved it so much we went twice."
