"A party of 9, venue didn't have a clue that 3 of us had booked. My room incredibly noisy with motorised heat pump on outside wall 24/7, used soap with pubic-hairs in the shower and mouldy grouting. Food was very expensive for tiny portions and the kitchen couldn't cope with 12 diners on a Sat, so was served cold. Staff member spotted cleaning teeth in the food prep sink. AVOID"

"Lots of on-site parking, easy walk into town, its bed only no breakfast but that was fine for us, oddly there was no one on site, access to the property was by emailed code which was tapped into the front door access panel, but that was OK for us, same with the rooms. The only staff member I saw and spoke to was the cleaner. "

"Starting to need a little TLC. The hot tub lid is broken. There are missing dimmer switches and screws out of wardrobe door handles. In the games room the perspex glass on the side of the pool table was smashed and no ends on the queues. The dartboard wasnt fixed on the wall properly and not all the players work properly on the football table. Also had to rewire the karaoke plug. None of this ruined our stay as its a beautiful property with stunning views."

"The property and our room were beautiful. The bed was comfortable and no detail was spared in what was made available for our convenience and comfort. The owners were very friendly, the breakfast was great with a variety of choices, and Chris was very helpful with my dietary needs. Altogether an excellent stay; highly recommended. "

"The pub had a rather tired feel. Didn't do evening meals on Sundays as they have a Quiz Night. Breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable."

"Great venue for Mum's 80th Birthday Party"

"We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful stately home. Bridget, Bas and all the other staff we met were charming, friendly and accommodating, including agreeing to bring forward our stay at almost no notice even though we had a fixed, non-refundable booking through hotels.com. This enabled us to visit just before coronavirus restrictions came into place and we had the place to ourselves most of the time. The cooked breakfast was very good. We stayed in a 2nd floor corner room with excellent...

"Had 3 lovely days at Brooksyde. A very comfortable house, a home form home seaside retreat. A great base to visit Lyme Regis, Sidmouth etc. Beer is a really lovely little village with a few independent shops and restaurants. The voucher for the next door shop was a nice surprise. Would highly recommend "
