Was an early birthday treat / stop off on our way to Cornwall to see a university - the room was sold as an atrium view - as we our trip was in the winter and we would be arriving and leaving in the dark I didn’t think this would be a problem. However it basically felt like I was sleeping in the middle of a pub as the noise coming up from the bar / restaurant in the atrium was not at all blocked out by the window. Our room had a previous guests dirty socks in. The pool and spa area was good - the floor in the ladies reside changing was filthy. Would not rebook

Pool area really good. The hotel bar is understocked and needs a cask ale other than chilled tap beers and lagers. The bar Open Fire is lovely when lit, although could not be lit unless maintenance do it?? Marie in the Kitchen and bar is lovely and was a pleasure to see her serving in the mornings.

Pleasant stay wity friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was plentiful but food was not always hot. Golf bar closed down early due to winter which was fair enough but the hotel restaurant then closed between 5 and 6 so there was nowhere to order food. Once they took orders, the kitchen got very busy which slowed the service down. Also, the menu was pretty unexciting and didnt seem to change.

We chose this hotel because we were visiting family in the area. The room was average with dated decor, particularly the bathroom. Peeling paint at bottom of bathroom door and black mould on the shower screen. We left towels in the bath for a change but came back from a day out and they were still there. Only bed had been made. Breakfast was also average with only 1 coffee machine working. It also seemed understaffed with one girl doing everything. The spa is good but very busy. Maybe would benefit from having an adult only time in the pool specified. The golf course looks great and all the surrounding area outside.

The pool and spa were really good, room was clean and comfortable bonus was the balcony, we didn’t have chance to use the gym but we will be back to try, I needed a relaxing break after an injury, this place was perfect with quiet areas lovely wood burning stove ticking away in the background, fabulous views, all the staff from reception to bar to spa were really friendly and professional, did me the world of good, looking forward to return visit..

It presents as dingy and needing a freshening up. The down stairs restaurant and a depressing dark grey and gives a munical appearance. also the signage in the corridors makes it very difficult to find the 'reception area if you don't know the building - of course as youi are a hotel most people staying won't know the layout of the building. The young woman on the reception desk was a gem and went the extra mild to help me sort a taxi problem.She was on When I arrrived on Saturday 26th and the folliowing Sunday Morning. Worth her weight in gold!!!

It was lovely and the staff were really decent, our bed was a bit savage as it was 2 singles clipped together and it kept separating and was really uncomfortable, my partner had a bad lower back from it on the Sunday. Other than that, really nice, spa was awesome and room dead clean and good food too.

Great stay with no stress
Staff were great and the room was a fantastic size. Really enjoyed our stay. It would be good to have a window for fresh air. The fan was appreciated but it’s not quite the same. There was a little water that came from under the bath after a shower but rooms were extremely clean.

Room claustrophobic due to lack of window. Room nice and big though. Food in the “cafe” disappointing and not value for money. Linen napkin coved in white particles which covered my cloths. The layout of the tables for a party of 6 was poor - why use round tables rather than push 2 rectangle ones together
