Firstly the exceptional positives; The location is wonderful and the Tasman Peninsula must be one of the most beautiful places in the world. "We make an annual trip to fox n hound. The location is great for exploring the area, staff is friendly and rooms are consistently clean. The hotel is dated but we find that’s part of the charm of the trip. Terrific views from sea side rooms."

"There were a couple of maitenance issues which we had to work around. The kitchenette is quite basic for the cost of a stay. No stove or oven. Location is good, however you have to carry everything up quite a few steep stairs."

"Booked the hotel because of its proximity to the private hospital, being close to the city, and the apartments being in a quiet area. The apartments are very clean and well maintained. The apartment we stayed in did not have air conditioning which, in summer, would have been great. There was a fan in the room which worked incredibly well and very powerful. That definitely helped. "This is one of the best places we’ve stayed in. We weren’t in the main house but were in the Watarah Cottage at the back of the back of the property. This building was free standing so was incredibly quiet. The kitchen was really well equipped, the bed was very comfortable and there was a whole separate dressing room to store luggage and other stuff. The breakfast in the main house was great…excellent service from Kathy! I highly recommend this place and would stay again if in Hobart. "
