Capsule Hotels in Taiwan

"I was in Taipei for a very short layover and wanted a place that was cheap, conveniently located, near transit, allowed for late check-ins (my flight landed after 10pm), and that would hold my luggage for a few hours while I ran around trying to take in a few sites. The Taiwan Youth Hostel & Capsule hotel exceeded my expectations!!! It did all that - it’s literally within a couple of blocks of one of the exits for the Main Station - but was quiet too! I actually managed to get some decent sleep...

"Cool experience staying in the capsule. The main downside compared to a traditional hostel is that I didn't see my roommates at all - everyone gets into their capsule and there's little interaction. It could have just been the people that were there at that time, but I think a capsule is great if you're looking for privacy and not so good if you're looking to interact with fellow travellers. The common area was fine, with a decent view. Bathrooms were big. The lockers are not in the room, which...

"Cool place! Spacey/airy common room downstairs where we had our room, multiple toilets and showers (men and women separate), access to refridgerator and freezer, reception open between 9-24, some training/gym equipment free for use. Close to stores, food and metro! "
