"Extremely remote (nearly a 3 hour bus ride from Kinegawa Onsen Train station into the winding mountains) which was both an adventure and unnerving. Made to feel like a foreigner with little help in understanding the cultural norms as a newcomer to the onsen experience. The in-suite onsen option was incredible, providing both privacy and ability to enjoy the experience as a newcomer free of the "ritual" imposed but not well explained for use of the public hot pools. "It is a very small hotel in a very quiet small town. We didn't feel very impressed when we first saw the hotel. After we checked in and went to our onsen, it was so amazing and then our fantastic dinner. It was Wows!!! Everything was so perfect, relaxing and so peaceful. We also felt in love with the town. It was so peaceful and didn't want to leave. It worth every afford to get there. Love love it so so much!!!"

"新しいオーナーさん方は一生懸命取り組まれていると感じました。築年数から老朽化している部分は仕方がないと思いますが、泊まった部屋が浴室の上のせいか、夜遅くに入浴者がいなくなるまでそうおんに堪えねばなりません。宿泊者の品行に寄りますが、自分が宿泊した日は残念ながら、ドアの開け閉め、廊下や階段の歩き方、廊下で話す声のトーンなど、散々な目にあいました。チェックイン時にマナー的なことを周知して下さると良いと思いました。 "

"The view is amazing, the open bath is exciting with the beautiful river and mountains make me feel relaxed.the pure hot spring getting my skin so soft.very kind staff and the foods are delicious.this is the perfect place for the nature lover’s person."

"The food, atmosphere, and super friendly staff definitely make this place to return to. Staff was always friendly and very, very accommodating even with our limited Japanese vocabulary. Definitely the highlight of our trip for sure!"

Hatcho No Yu was ultimately a memory for a lifetime but came with a less than supportive interface with staff who treated us like we didnt belong. "
