"The Avalon is absolutely charming. It has such a cool art deco feel. The lobby is immaculately decorated, and they serve free white wine and champagne from 5-7pm, which was really nice - and the lobby and patio are perfect places to relax and enjoy some wine. We stayed one night for our anniversary after driving past the hotel a million times and thinking how cute it looked. We stayed in the actual hotel building on the first floor. The room was small but very comfortable and clean. Service was excellent. It’s nice that Avalon guests can also use the amenities at the Hollander but in my opinion the Avalon is a cooler place to stay than the Hollander. Breakfast at the Hollander was very good, and the heated pool was gorgeous. My only complaint about the Avalon is that the room was cold… we had the heat set to 82 all night long and it never got warm (but I recognize that it would not typically be expected that a guest would run the heat full blast in April in Florida). Also there were very limited outlets in the room to charge our devices. However, overall we had a really wonderful time and will definitely be back. "
