"We visit Norfolk every New Year, and this was our first time staying in this building. The building itself is stunning and I had high hopes that our stay would be brilliant. I received clear communication in the run up to booking, but different checking in and out times to those on hotels.com!?! The checking in process was OK, although the key lock box was very difficult to open, and it took us about 30 minutes. "The property is right in the centre of Holt, so handy for all the shops, restaurants and amenities. Although the property is on the second floor, this allows a vantage point to people watch, and see the town wake up, or the Sunday market setting up! When we arrived, we checked to see if bread, milk, sugar, tea, or, as we had seen in other welcome packs, a cake... Nothing was provided. "Easy to find directions very clear. Property clean. Good parking. Everythig you want in a stay, near all locations"

"This is an upstairs apartment with the entrance through a main door and two fire doors. The immediate connection to the garden and parking area is therefore somewhat isolated. There is however plenty to see in the near neighbourhood including the broads, lovely beach and numerous nature reserves. The apartment is well equipped with comfy bed, good kitchen, shower etc and the owners are most welcoming. This is therefore a good place to stay and we would recommend it."

"Ideal location for anyone needing to be near the courts or the cathedral and next to the beautiful Elm Hill area of Norwich. The apartment has everything you could need, including a bathroom and an en suite for the main bedroom. Really well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds and sitting room. There are lots of steps between different levels which was not a problem but could be for those who find stairs tricky. It was a perfect place for my work needs and I really hope to be back. "

Amazing

"Absolutely beautiful old hotel in a lovely setting. We have stayed before and we will be back as the rooms are so well decorated and equipped. We have stayed in so many hotels over the years and have never come across rooms so clean and the en-suite as well was immaculate. Staff are amazing and breakfast 1st class. Thank you for another great stay and we will be back soon."

"We stayed as a couple for one night as we were going to the very nearby Norwich arts centre for a gig. The hotel was both classy and cosy, everything was a nice size ( room, bed, bathroom etc), very clean and everything we needed. The building itself is grand, kooky and welcoming. The staff were just incredible and we enjoyed our chats with them....they were very knowledgeable including about the history of the hotel and what else was of interest in the local area. Breakfast was quality ( and we are food snobs as we used to live in France). Really couldn't fault anything. Next time, we'll be back with more time hopefully as we regretted not being able to try out the cocktails at the lovely bar!!"
