"Great stay, as always. Building is showing its age, but staying here is so convenient, I'm okay overlooking the small things. What's great about a smaller place like this is if your plans change - its easier to add or subtract days from your stay without stupid charges. Staff was great, and when my credit card did not show me leaving a day early - one phone call and it was taken care of. I will continue to stay at the Lafayette - at least until I see a ghost - and yes - I look for them! "

"This is a very unique hotel. Has a definite tropical vibe - enjoyed the colorful decor and relaxing rooms. Just understand that, in the common area and breakfast space, there will be the humidity that goes along with the tropical vibe, as the pool is in that same location. Which makes a great space for families, as the kids can be in the pool while parents sit nearby, relaxing by a table or in comfy chairs. Great people, great breakfast - lovely stay. "

"This hotel had the absolutely friendliest staff of anyplace I’ve stayed. Breakfast was outstanding! However, the facility still has smoking rooms, on the first floor, which no amount of cleaning can disguise. Thus the down grade. Staff said their major upgrade is scheduled for Fall 2025, which will end the smoking room situation. If they keep the same staff, I’d stay here again, for sure."
