"We stayed for 3 nights, the property itself is cozy, with a good use of space, however, access to the bedding area may be limited to able-bodied folks. We were given plenty privacy with access to the barbeque and private garden area. If we're ever in the area again, we'd absolutely stay here again."

I particularly enjoyed this part of Sintra which is authentically Portuguese and a bit off the beaten path. We spent a lot of time chatting with locals at the small store/cafe down the road and ate at several great spots that Cristina recommended, all a short drive away. "We had a wonderful 2 day stay at the Mill House near Santa Cruz. Carla and her family were incredibly welcoming, generous and warm people. Right after check in we got a tour of the farm that is part of the property and her husband gave us samples of some things they grow there. "We booked this because I wanted to be near the sea = we were actually high up on a rocky promontory but that was fine, view was great and we were not in the midst of loads of people. One issue is parking - we had no trouble but I can see during busy times that there may be. But there seems to be enough, just need to be creative. The house was clean and has everything - no AC but with the sea air, probably no need,. It does take time to get used to the European way of heating water for showers...
