"The best thing about Solymar Ivory Suites was the staff and the hospitality. Ahmed Shendy was my go to guy for any issues and questions we had; a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you kind sir. Ahmed assisted us with internet connection issues, currency issues and just general questions and suggestions regarding the surrounding area of Hurghada. There isn't much going on near the surrounding area of Solymar Ivory Suites, in fact dining options are limited as well. Anywhere you wish to go is a bit of a journey; a 10-20 minute car ride depending on traffic. I highly suggest using Uber and tipping them the max... a far better option than arguing and haggling with Taxi drivers that constantly want to rip you off. All our rides cost about $5 at the most!! The Venue itself was great for what we paid. We ended up with a large two bedroom flat. It was a bit too cold to use the swimming pool, but the pool looked clean and well maintained. We had WiFi connectivity issues, web access was choppy, inconsistent and worked half the time. There was some hair under a couple of the beds, not cleaned thoroughly. Everything else was fine and worked as it should. The hot water was HOT! So be careful. Glad to be a VIP member of Expedia, I got my late checkout extended for free, no additional charges. I would easily stay here again. "

"This property is on the beach with somewhat old sunbeds but the beach is kept clean. Those who complain of hotels with same old same old menu, they need to stay at this resort. Those you like Eat as much as you like, Giftun is a heaven sent resort. Truly amazing place to spend a vacation."

"To the credit of the desk staff, they tried their best, but advertising didn't mention that one has to sit by the waterless pool in the cold to acces the WiFi and data on my phone as none was available in the room. (although later that evening I was invited to sit in the office). They offered us another room near the pool where there was WiFi reception, but the night I had with the fridge and no data WiFi access, I had to book another hotel. It's only a place for people who are commuters, layovers and those wanting to be closer to the airport the night before a flight. The fridge kept making noise all night, the shower/bathroom was smaller than expected. One thing I noticed about some hotels in Egypt; they don't have bath mats for when you come out the shower. If this isn't there they should provide a squidgy at least to aid the resident to sweep the water to the shower basin and thereby clean the floor of the water hazard which is a Health and Safety issue."
