Particularly recommended if you prefer the charm and individuality of an old "tipico" historic building over a modern anonymous one. Siena deserves at least a few days of your itinerary. "Alma Domus is a jewel of a hotel in a jewel of a city. The rooms are simple,, comfortable, and ours, at least, had a spectacular view. It's located in a quiet part of Siena but easily walkable to all the sites. There's quite a good restaurant, just a few yards away. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the breakfast we had there was great. This has become my go-to hotel anytime I'm in Siena."

"Such a beautiful place. Like stepping into Sienese history. Amazing breakfasts on the balcony overlooking S Giuseppe and the hills beyond. Caterina provided dairy free alternatives and a kettle so we could make tea any time. Everyone was really helpful. The original Etruscan house has was added to in the 15 and 17 centuries. Wander around to find the old kitchen, patterned marble floors, painted ceilings, and terraced garden. Lots of nooks and crannies and places to curl up with a book or sketch...

"Great location, but it is very confusing because the photo used for advertising is a museum it is not the place you are booking. Also it is not the kind of hotel we are use to book, it is difficult, because if you don’t get to the property on time for any reason, they leave and you have to wait outside with your suitcase and hot weather. Next time I will book a hotel with front desk. But I need to say that it was cleaned and nice room, bathroom and great location!"

"It was a nice place to stay near the Duomo. Staff were friendly and parked our car for us. We could see Duomo towers for our window. There was a lovely small seating area on our floor with a lovely view. I would never take a car to the middle of Siena again. Streets are narrow and filled with pedestrians."
