"Wow. This was amazing. I don’t know where to even begin. The ryokan was absolutely beautiful. Yes, like some other reviews said, it was a bit dated but honestly I’m totally ok with that as it keeps the tradition alive. There were tatami floors throughout the ryokan. You are provided a yukata to go to the various onsens. It’s a smaller ryokan with perhaps around 21 rooms or so and that really keeps things intimate. The staff were so friendly and kind. The private onsens are in outstanding condition, the public onsens are great although not as good. The breakfast was excellent with several Japanese and western dishes. The place is close enough to the train station to walk but far enough so that the noise of the town does not bother. "

"This Ryokan is up in the hills, far from anything except the Hakone cable car and ropeway. It is very authentic I am sure but very dated. The food was off in my opinion but I am not a fan of raw, fishy things that I don't know what they are. They try and explain but still a mystery on some of the items. You eat in your room on the floor which for a westerner was not comfortable however I realize it is their custom."
