"Great value. We probably visited during the off peak season as the entire area was quiet. The hotel is conveniently located by the lake with a supermarket just down the street and a shuttle bus which brings guests to and from Otsu station. Rioms were clean and we got upgraded to a bigger room which was good for our family. View from the room was great too!"

"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. "The location is perfect. Only a two minute walk from the station, completely covered overhead. A plaza is right across from the station. The room is spacious and quiet. Staff is professional and efficient. It was a wonderful stay."

"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. Onyado Nono Kyotoshichijo Natural Hot Springs

" Excellent services, good communication (English and Chinese), nice hot spring, updated facility and room. Its location is convenient, about 8 minute walk to Kyoto station, and 400 feet from several major bus routs. Our 280 sq room is spacious. Bathroom and toilet are clean and top notch. Hotel lobby has coffee and matcha tea. Hot spring (no charge) has free ice cream. The only issue is that the hall way upstairs (4th floor) is too hot, feeling like >80 F (25 C)"

"The staff were nice and kind. Were really helpful even with the language barrier. The rooms are always clean when you're in Japan. You can always count on cleanliness in Japan. Naturally, the room we had was a bit small from your average double-sized bedroom, but it was completely manageable with our 2 check in luggages and 2 carry on. Great price for what we got. Breakfast was okay, but useful if you don't want to worry about breakfast in the morning. Recommended stay for budget travellers. "
